Last of Sequoia

These 2 pages are the last two for Sequoia National Park. The first page was set on Apricot Appeal Cardstock, with Glorious Green punchouts using my circle scallop punch. These photos are of the General Grant tree and a couple others that were near. The General Grant tree is the 3rd largest in the world by volume. Makes me feel like just a little speck in this world.

The second page is set on Glorious Green Cardstock. The coyote at the top is set against an Apricot Appeal matting. It just really brings out the gold in his coat. This is one of my favorite pictures I have ever taken. I have it blown up into an 18" x 24" in my house. The photo on the bottom right side is where I was setting when I took the coyote picture. He had come down the road towards us and had stopped on the snow bank not 6 feet from my car. I rolled my window down and took the photo. I had my dog in the back of my car and she just sat there looking at him too. What a beautiful animal. He was hungary and I'm sure looking for food.

My next set of NP photos will take us into Yosemite................so stay tuned!!!!!!!!!!!!!

2nd Installment of Sequoia Nat'l Park

Here are the next 2 12 x 12 scrapbook pages. This continues the journey through Sequoia National Park. The 1st page was placed on Sage Shadow cardstock. I used part of a map of the Park that I had gotten as the back drop for my photos. These pictures were taken as you enter the Giant Forest.

The 2nd page is placed on Bordering Blue cardstock and I used More Mustard cardstock for the matting. Notice how it just "pops" our dog Stubby in the top picture on this page!! She's almost the exact same color! The picture to the right of the "General Sherman", which is Earth's largest tree. She stands 275 feet tall. The truck is estimated to weigh an estimated 1385 TONS and her circumference at the ground is nearly 103 feet!!!

Sequoia National Park

Here are the first 2 12x12 pages of the 2nd National Park in my "National Park Scrapbook". This trip took us to Sequoia National Park. It is very different from the beginning to the end of this trip. These first 2 pages are "all about the rocks". There are so many different rock formations close to the entrance of this National Park. The first page is set on Bordering Blue Cardstock with matting done in So Saffron. The 2nd pageg was mounted on So Saffron with Bordering Blue along the side with my journaling done along the side and next to each picture. I will be back tomorrow with the next installment, so come on back!!!

Last of Mount Rainier

Here is the last installment of Mount Rainier National Park. The 1st page is set on SU's Really Rust cardstock. These photos were taken in Paradise Valley. If you look closely in the center photo, you can see the Paradise Valley Inn. It is just beautiful there when the leaves are changing. The colors of the leaves are exactly the same as our Earth Elements colors! I sooooo love the fact that everything SU has is color coordinated, even with nature! On this page I also used my Scor-Pal. I scored lines on the sides to add a little dimension. Hope you can see it!

The 2nd page is set on SU's More Mustard Cardstock. 2 more photos of Paradise Valley and one of my friend Mandy at Reflection Lake. If you look in the sky in this photo you will also see our National Bird, the Bald Eagle.

The stickers are by sticko, and the stamping is done with the retired set, Season by Season.

2nd installment of National Parks

Here is my 2nd installment of my 12 x 12 scrapbook pages for my National Parks Scrapbook.

This 1st page is a picture of Mount Rainer. I had taken 2 pictures that I was able to overlay so you get the true effect of what the Mountain really looks like. The bottom picture, I was playin g around and didn't really want to mount the photo but I wanted to make it "different". I decided to cut it using my Top Note Bigz die and my Big Shot. I LOVE my big shot. The top note die is exclusive to Stampin' Up! and sells for $21.95. It's on page 196 of the current catty. If interested you can purchase directly from my SU website which you will find a link to on the right. I used SU's Creamy Caramel Cardstock and then stamped leaf images in the different SU browns for the background paper.

The 2nd page is a picture of my husband and I in front of Christine Falls. I used my Eyelet Border punch, also from SU and made a little edging for this photo. The other picture is of Reflection Lake. It is such a beautiful place! The background cardstock is SU's More Mustard. The stickers are from sticko.

1st of my National Parks Scrapbook Pages

These pages are the 1st installment of my National Parks Scrapbook. When my husband and I traveled from Oregon to Washington, back to Oregon and then all the way cross country to Florida, we took our time. 56 days and 6258 miles later......Mike had just retired from the Navy after 26 years. We were living in Okinawa when he retired, so the Navy had sent us back for him to process out of the military in Bangor Washington. During our travels back to our house in Pensacola, (after 8 months of living in Oregon trying to figure out what our next step in life was going to be), we wanted to visit as many National Parks as possible on our way. SOOOOOO...........my 1st 12 x 12 scrapbook is going to be on the National Parks! We started our venture in Washington while he was getting processed out. We spent an entire day in Mount Rainier National Park. It is one of my favorites, but then again, they are ALL my favorites! LOL. I just LOVE LOVE LOVE the mountains and the trees. I'm from Oregon originally so that is what I miss most being in Florida.

My 1st page is just a cover page basically with no photos. I had ordered a National Parks scrapbooking kit online (unfortunately it was 8 1/2 x 11). I used one of the patterned papers for the main focus and then a couple punch outs on top and bottom. BG paper is SU Ruby Red.

The 2nd page is the intro page for Mt. Rainier. A beautiful shot of the mountain with Reflection Lake. The foliage was just starting to turn colors around the lake, so I mounted the photo on Summer Sun CS which is then mounted on Old Olive. The words Mount Rainer was cut using my Cricut and using Really Rust CS.

The 3rd page I'll share today are 2 more photos of the mountain from different distances, both mounted on Whisper White CS. The 3rd photos is a picture of our friend Mandy and my husband Mike sitting in her "Beamer". We had taken it for a little cruise that day. The accent papers are from DCWV's "The Travel Stack". These were all mounted on Close to Cocoa CS. I hope you enjoy my scrappy pages!! More to follow!
