I think this is a very cheery get well card. I made this for one of our WAVES from NW Florida WAVES Unit 52 here in Pensacola. I am the "Sunshine Committee" so when one of our Woman Veterans's needs some cheering up, I'm here to help out with my handmade cards.

Baby Quilt Square with MDS

I know I'm a little late posting this from what I promised the yahoo groups I belong too but here it is!!!

I was asked to embroidery a baby quilt square for my nephew and his awesome wife Annie's baby. Well, I haven't embroideried in years! Needless to say, I had to come up with an alternate way, but to still make it "very cool"! I think I did a pretty good job using My Digital Studio! I am loving this program more and more every time I use it. It is SO user friendly!

This is the MDS quilt square:

Here is how I did it. I used a 12 x 12 background of Bashful Blue Brocade DSP (Designer Series Paper). Then put in 5 Wide Oval Punches on that. To get the photos inside the punch, you need to first import your photos that you want to use, into the MDS program inside the DSP folder which is in the "Components" folder. Once the punches are installed, click on the punch and use the "paper fill" function to place your photo inside of it. I then placed the "All in the Family stamp body 1 and head 1 and also the "Once Upon a Time" stamp. I put everything in the place that I wanted them on the background paper and saved it. I then exported it in a jpeg format.

Once exported, I opened it in my photo editing software (I use Windows Picture-It which came loaded on my computer) and cropped it at about 8 x 8. This was because the quilt square I was to use was about 7 x 7 on the inside of the markings that Annie's family had put on the quilt square.

My next step was to get my tranfer paper for light fabrics. Before you print out a transfer, you really should print out a sample so you can ensure that it will work correctly. Also when you print your transfer be sure to use the "mirror image" function on your printer so that when you transfer it on to the fabric it is not backwards. And now, here is my finished quilt square!!!

My Digital Studio

Here is a photo calender that I made in My Digital Studio, or also known as MDS. For those of you not familiar with MDS, it is Stampin' Up!'s Digital software that can be used to make scrapbooks, calendars, single pages, videos with music and the list goes on and on! It is an AWESOME program! Another thing that is really cool, is Stampin' Up! offers more digital downloads so you can keep adding to your library......and they add more downloads all the time. You can also use these downloads in other photo editing type software by choosing what type of download you want.

Today I am sharing an 8 x 10 photo calendar that I made. We had photos taken at one of the "Big Box" Clothing stores a year ago with us and both our boys. The boys photos is imported from that CD. The photo of Mike and I were taken last month at our Holiday Party.

When we purchased the professional photos from the "store" we paid almost $20 for the one 8 X 10 photo with last years calendar on it. I have had that photo at work on my desk for the last year. I was now in need of a replacement for my desk and this is what I made.

First of all, let me wish each and every one of you a Very Merry Christmas!! I hope this finds you all well and with family, friends and loved ones!

Here is my second version of the same card using different stamps out of the same "Peaceful Season" stamp set and a different color scheme! Our stamps sets are so versatile!!!

I used Baja Breeze and Whisper White cardstock along with Candy Cane Christmas Designer Series Paper (DSP) (120809) which is available from the current Holiday Mini catalog. It is a very quick and simple card. The border on the white was punched using the Scallop Trim Border Punch (118402).

This is one of my Christmas cards I made and mailed out to some friends and family this year.
The card is made using the Level 2 Hostess Stamp set called "Peaceful Season". Notecard Set Box

This is the box I made for the notecards. I used a piece of 12 x 12 textured cardstock in Always Artichoke. I cut it down to 12 x 7 3/4 inches. On the 12 inch side, I scored at 1", 5 1/2", 6 1/2" and at 11". I then rotated the paper 90 degrees and on the 7 3/4" side, I scored at 1" and 6 3/4". I cut at the appropriate lines to fold for a box, used sticky strip to assemble the box. I layered another piece of the My Digital Studio DSP on top of a piece of Perfect Plum cardstock, cut using the Top Note Die (113463). I did trim the piece of DSP to fit inside the Tope Note layer. I then wrapped it all up using a piece of 5/8" Whisper White Organza Ribbon (114319).

Card 4 of Notecard Set

This is the last of the Notecard Set cards, however, next I will show you the little box I made to put them all in! This card again used a piece of the MDS DSP from the Summertime Splendor papers, Perfect Plum and Always Artichoke cardstock, the Perfect Punches stamp set (120516), the Large Designer Label punch (119862) and the Modern Label Punch (119849).

Card 3 of Notecard Set

This card also uses the Perfect Punches Stamp Set, Night of Navy and Certainly Celery cardstock and another piece from the Summertime Splendor My Digital Studio DSP. I layered 2 different punched pieces for the sentiment, the top one being the Extra Large Oval Punch (item # 119859) and beneath that is a piece of Certainly Celery punched with the Extra Large Decorative Label Punch (120907). The flowers along the bottom were punched using a retired punch, however, almost the same exact effect could be used by using the Itty Bitty Shapes Punch Pack.

This is the 2nd card of my Notecard Set. I forgot to mention in yesterdays post, I made this set for a Christmas Santa Gift. I belong to the Northwest Florida WAVES Unit 52 here in Pensacola. I think I am the youngest member at age 54. Most of our ladies range in age from 70 - 90+ and served in either World War II or the Korean War. These are a GREAT bunch of ladies and I wanted to make something special.

This card is made using SoSaffron and Riding Hood Red cardstock and also another piece of the Summertime Splendor DSP printed from My Digital Studio. The Sentiment is from the Hostess Set "Cute by the Inch".

On this particular card (and the 3 others I will share over the next few days) I used the Summertime Splendor DSP from the MDS downloads. I put 4 different papers onto one 8 1/2 X 11 sheet of Whisper White cardstock and then printed it using my Kodak ESP 7250. For this particular card I layered it on Daffodil Delight and Tangerine Tango cardstock. The stamped image is from the Perfect Punches stamp set. Huffing Technique

I was playing around with a few things awhile back. This is a card made with the Stampin' Up! set called Upsy Daisy. It is a great set that you can use for a bunch of different types of cards and also try different techniques. This technique is using our fabulous markers to color the stamp and then stamp the paper after huffing on the stamp to remoisten the ink. Stamps all the color at once!

I finally got some time to play!! I have been wanting to make me a desktop calendar for work and I finally got around to doing it. It's made with retired DSP (Raspeberry Tart), 1/2 " Pretty in Pink striped ribbon, the Bind-it-All for the binding (non-SU), Sweet Pea Stitched Felt flower (item # 117266) in the new Occasion's mini, Pinking Hearts Border Punch (item # 117649) also available in the Occasion's Mini.

OK, as I was sitting here posting this, I realized the flower needed a little "pop", so I just added a Real Red Corduroy Button (item # 117268) to the center of the felt flower. How do you like it now??

2nd Convention Swap

This is the second swap I made for convention this year. I tried something different. I had heard about crafters making their own "dew drops" so I just had to try it. That's what the center of my flowers are. I hope you like it. All you have to do is melt glue sticks with your "hot" glue gun. The key word here is "hot". It really needs to be one of the higher temp glue guns for this to work. Just lay out some wax paper, get a flow of glue going, a small flow, and then let it settle out and harden. That really only takes a couple minutes. Let me know what you think.

This was one of the swaps I made for the Stampin' Up! Convention in Salt Lake City this year. This is a brand new set that I just LOVE! Convention is always a blast and one of the funnest parts is all the swapping that goes on! While in line at Memento Hall, waiting for Main Stage presentations, during lunch, between classes. It goes on for 3-4 days straight! I made very few swaps compared to some of these ladies and yes, gents too. This year I saw at least 5 male demonstrators! The fitst 2 years I went, I only saw one. They were swapping 3-D items, cards, scrapbook pages, some were pre-scheduled, most were just regular swaps. But.......they were swapping!!!!

Stampin' Up! Convention

I'm here in Salt Lake City, a few days before Convention starts. I am staying at one of our timeshares, and have already met another SU Demonstrator here at the Kimball. I am signed up for a couple of the Pre-Convention events being held by the Late Night Stampers. Can't wait!! Should be TONS of FUN!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Last of Sequoia

These 2 pages are the last two for Sequoia National Park. The first page was set on Apricot Appeal Cardstock, with Glorious Green punchouts using my circle scallop punch. These photos are of the General Grant tree and a couple others that were near. The General Grant tree is the 3rd largest in the world by volume. Makes me feel like just a little speck in this world.

The second page is set on Glorious Green Cardstock. The coyote at the top is set against an Apricot Appeal matting. It just really brings out the gold in his coat. This is one of my favorite pictures I have ever taken. I have it blown up into an 18" x 24" in my house. The photo on the bottom right side is where I was setting when I took the coyote picture. He had come down the road towards us and had stopped on the snow bank not 6 feet from my car. I rolled my window down and took the photo. I had my dog in the back of my car and she just sat there looking at him too. What a beautiful animal. He was hungary and I'm sure looking for food.

My next set of NP photos will take us into Yosemite................so stay tuned!!!!!!!!!!!!!

2nd Installment of Sequoia Nat'l Park

Here are the next 2 12 x 12 scrapbook pages. This continues the journey through Sequoia National Park. The 1st page was placed on Sage Shadow cardstock. I used part of a map of the Park that I had gotten as the back drop for my photos. These pictures were taken as you enter the Giant Forest.

The 2nd page is placed on Bordering Blue cardstock and I used More Mustard cardstock for the matting. Notice how it just "pops" our dog Stubby in the top picture on this page!! She's almost the exact same color! The picture to the right of the "General Sherman", which is Earth's largest tree. She stands 275 feet tall. The truck is estimated to weigh an estimated 1385 TONS and her circumference at the ground is nearly 103 feet!!!

Sequoia National Park

Here are the first 2 12x12 pages of the 2nd National Park in my "National Park Scrapbook". This trip took us to Sequoia National Park. It is very different from the beginning to the end of this trip. These first 2 pages are "all about the rocks". There are so many different rock formations close to the entrance of this National Park. The first page is set on Bordering Blue Cardstock with matting done in So Saffron. The 2nd pageg was mounted on So Saffron with Bordering Blue along the side with my journaling done along the side and next to each picture. LNS Challenge 20

I made this card for the #20 challenge over at Late Night Stampers. This is a great bunch and some SUPER talented ladies!!! The #20 challege was a color challenge, using only Kraft, Rose Red, Chocolate Brown and Old Olive. The Design Team holds these challenges each week. Manhattan Flower

This is an extremely simple card to make. You can chose any background color for your card. Then use the Textured Impressions Manhattan Flower (Item # 114517) to dry emboss using the Big Shot (Item # 113439) and vellum to create this beautiful overlay. You can stamp any sentiment that you would like. I used the Happy Mother's Day for my Mother-in-Law. Just trim the vellum around the flower with a pair of scissors, add a little ribbon, or a brad, or button. Whatever your choice of embellishment and you have a beautiful card!!!

Last Saturday I had gone to an all day Scrapbooking function. I get up Sunday Morning, Mother's Day, and my husband lays this envelope down on the island in the kitchen. I was busy getting coffee, gotta have it first thing in the morning!!! I opened it up and this is what I saw................

Easter Snack Sacks

I made these little Easter Snacks Sacks for the people that work with my hubby. There is only one woman who works there, that's why there is only one pink one! I cased the idea of the bunny from a lady on Late Night Stampers, Barb Mullikin. Barb, I hope I spelt your last name right!! These bunnies were made with all punches except for the hand drawn whiskers and mouth. The bag topper is made using the Top Note die from Stampin' Up! used in the Big Shot. Boy do I love that tool!!!!

Well...I am finally back again! My Mother-in-Law was here for Easter so I got absolutely nothing done!!!

I have joined a yahoo group called "Late Night Stampers". They are some of the sweetest and most talented ladies I've seen in a long time. I am so lucky to have a group that supports me the way this group does. About 2 weeks ago, it was an awful gloomy day here in the Florida panhandle with all the rain and thundertorms. I went to my mailbox late in the afternoon because the weather was just nasty. When I looked through my mail, I had gotten this card from Bev Penick, one of the ladies from LNS!! Isn't is just the greatest to get an uplifting card from someone you have never physically met before, but you have the love of stamping in common??? Thanks Bev!!!

Scene in a Garden

First of all let me just say I'm sorry for being gone so long!!! My husband and I had gone to Orlando to meet up with his sister Kathy and her family. The kids were on Spring Break so we decided to go to Mickey Town!!! Let me just say, we had a GREAT time!

Anyway.....on with this card. This set is called "Scene In A Garden" item number 113246.

Last Friday was my "Older" sisters 44th Wedding Anniversary. I had made her an anniversary card and then realized I had used the sketch that was posted on the Late Night Stampers Yahoo Group without realizing it. You know, you see something, a couple days later you decide you better get busy creating, next thing a ya know.....wha-la a nice card! I had decided to upload it for the challenge. Then I realized I had used a retired stamp set for the sentiment on the card and I disqualified my submission for the challenge. Gretchen, (one of the Design Team Leaders) had said "just change the sentiment and resubmit." Well...I had already mailed the card to my sister! I decided to make a new card, same colors and everything, just a different sentiment. Hope you like it! I really like these colors together. I didn't want something to "girly" since it was for a "couple".

A very good friend of mine had surgery last week. Her husband is out of the country, so I took her to the hospital and spent all day there. She had to have a colostomy operation. Sh has had to have this done in the past. No fun thing here!! This time the operation put her down a little longer than in the past. She is still in the hospital but hoping to be home by the weekend. Her Dr. says "one day at a time". While she was in surgery I had packed up my little blue convention tote full of goodies. I figured I might as well be creative to keep my mind from wondering. Plus I was hoping to entice some of the others in the waiting room! A couple were curious, but that was about it.

These cards are the same except for the sentiment. I had to take a photo of the get well card with my cell phone since I was giving it to Pauline and I had forgotten my little camera.

Last of Mount Rainier

Here is the last installment of Mount Rainier National Park. The 1st page is set on SU's Really Rust cardstock. These photos were taken in Paradise Valley. If you look closely in the center photo, you can see the Paradise Valley Inn. It is just beautiful there when the leaves are changing. The colors of the leaves are exactly the same as our Earth Elements colors! I sooooo love the fact that everything SU has is color coordinated, even with nature! On this page I also used my Scor-Pal. I scored lines on the sides to add a little dimension. Hope you can see it!

The 2nd page is set on SU's More Mustard Cardstock. 2 more photos of Paradise Valley and one of my friend Mandy at Reflection Lake. If you look in the sky in this photo you will also see our National Bird, the Bald Eagle.

The stickers are by sticko, and the stamping is done with the retired set, Season by Season.

A few posts back, my "Get Well Tracy" post I had made a card for a friend of ours and had asked for prayers. Well, they worked!! We found out a couple days ago that Tracy will NOT need organ transplants. This entire mess was caused by her small intestine being overlapped upon itself and caused a blockage! The bacteria had manifested in the blockage and had started attacking her heart and her lungs! I just can't imagine if they had gone ahead with one or both transplants, only to find out they weren't needed at all!!

This just totally freaks me out how this can happen. I am not sure which doctor had discovered the intestine, but we are sure glad he/she did!!!

2nd installment of National Parks

Here is my 2nd installment of my 12 x 12 scrapbook pages for my National Parks Scrapbook.

This 1st page is a picture of Mount Rainer. I had taken 2 pictures that I was able to overlay so you get the true effect of what the Mountain really looks like. The bottom picture, I was playin g around and didn't really want to mount the photo but I wanted to make it "different". I decided to cut it using my Top Note Bigz die and my Big Shot. I LOVE my big shot. The top note die is exclusive to Stampin' Up! and sells for $21.95. It's on page 196 of the current catty. If interested you can purchase directly from my SU website which you will find a link to on the right. I used SU's Creamy Caramel Cardstock and then stamped leaf images in the different SU browns for the background paper.

The 2nd page is a picture of my husband and I in front of Christine Falls. I used my Eyelet Border punch, also from SU and made a little edging for this photo. The other picture is of Reflection Lake. It is such a beautiful place! The background cardstock is SU's More Mustard. The stickers are from sticko.

1st of my National Parks Scrapbook Pages

These pages are the 1st installment of my National Parks Scrapbook. When my husband and I traveled from Oregon to Washington, back to Oregon and then all the way cross country to Florida, we took our time. 56 days and 6258 miles later......Mike had just retired from the Navy after 26 years. We were living in Okinawa when he retired, so the Navy had sent us back for him to process out of the military in Bangor Washington. During our travels back to our house in Pensacola, (after 8 months of living in Oregon trying to figure out what our next step in life was going to be), we wanted to visit as many National Parks as possible on our way. SOOOOOO...........my 1st 12 x 12 scrapbook is going to be on the National Parks! We started our venture in Washington while he was getting processed out. We spent an entire day in Mount Rainier National Park. It is one of my favorites, but then again, they are ALL my favorites! LOL. I just LOVE LOVE LOVE the mountains and the trees. I'm from Oregon originally so that is what I miss most being in Florida.

My 1st page is just a cover page basically with no photos. I had ordered a National Parks scrapbooking kit online (unfortunately it was 8 1/2 x 11). I used one of the patterned papers for the main focus and then a couple punch outs on top and bottom. BG paper is SU Ruby Red.

The 2nd page is the intro page for Mt. Rainier. A beautiful shot of the mountain with Reflection Lake. The foliage was just starting to turn colors around the lake, so I mounted the photo on Summer Sun CS which is then mounted on Old Olive. The words Mount Rainer was cut using my Cricut and using Really Rust CS.

The 3rd page I'll share today are 2 more photos of the mountain from different distances, both mounted on Whisper White CS. The 3rd photos is a picture of our friend Mandy and my husband Mike sitting in her "Beamer". We had taken it for a little cruise that day. The accent papers are from DCWV's "The Travel Stack". These were all mounted on Close to Cocoa CS. I hope you enjoy my scrappy pages!! More to follow!

DSP Sampler Box

I was one of the lucky ones to be able to purchase the Stampin' Up! DSP Sampler after Leadership! I just LOVE LOVE LOVE the idea of being able to show off all of SU's great DSP! However, I did not like the way they had "connected" the front cover to the back cover. It did not allow you the ability to "flip" through the papers without possibly wrecking the cover. You basically had to fan the pages out and the cover still got in the way! I wanted to keep the front and back covers though. What I did was just cut the cover on the 2 scored lines and made 2 separate covers! This allows me greater access to the papers. Then I thought, "How cute would it be to have a little holder for it!" Well I made one, and here it is! I made it out of Pink Pirouette Cardstock and some retired DSP (to match the colors of my stamp room, of course!), don't remember the name off the top of my head. I embellished it with a couple of Prima Flowers and a little center piece and wha-la!!

To make the holder you need a piece of cardstock that is 6 1/2" x 6 1/4". On the 6 1/2" side you score at 2 1/2" and again at 4". Then on the 6 1/4" side, you score at 1 1/2" and at 4 3/4".

On both of the 6 1/2" sides, you would then cut your score lines up to the vertical score line and trim off the 1 1/2" piece in the center of where you just cut but leave enough to attach to the sides when you fold it. Fold on all score lines and then bring the 6 1/4" sides up to the center and make your box. Tape where needed! It really is easy peasy!!

Meander Book

This is what they call a Meander Book...............I'm not quite sure why they call it that, other than maybe because when you fold the paper, it just kind of meanders from one side to the other...?

I made this cute little book for a friend of mine that lives in Maryland. She had purchased dsome retired Stampin' Up! sets from me and I thought I would make her a little "thank-you" gift. I used the tutorial by Beate Johns that is over on Splitcoaststampers. Basically all you need is 2, 3 1/2" coasters 1 piece of 12 x 12 cardstock, or Designer Series Paper, also enough paper to cover the inside and outside of the coasters, and something to attach it all together. Here I used my Bind-it-All. You could just as easily put it together with ribbons or binder rings, whatever your preference. I also used our new Raspberry Tart DSP. I LOVE this new paper. It is so vibrant and "Spring" looking. I also used some Prima flowers, a chipboard letter and some glitter for embellishments. I think it turned out really cute for a 1st time try at this one, and the best part, my friend Dawn loved it too!!!

Get Well Tracy

A friend of ours has been sick off and on over the last year. It all started when she went into premature labor, delivered her baby, and then lost her baby just a few short weeks after. Since then she has been diagnosed with Lupis. I guess it affects different people in different ways. We found out last week that it has affected both her lungs and her heart and will need transplants of both organs. She is still in the hospital in an induced comma, so the antibiotics can help fight the infection in her lungs. I made this little card for her the day before we found out the last diagnosis. She can not receive flowers and other than family members, no one is allowed to go visit her. PLEASE keep her in your prayers , and her husband so that they will have the strength and courage to get through this difficult time.

Sympathy Card

The Secretary, where my husband works, grandmother passed away. I made her this sympathy card last week to send condolences from the guys in the office. I really like this card however this picture does not do it justice. I love the new Pink Pirouette paper and it just doesn't seem to photograph well. I also used the Big Shot, and the Top Note Bigz Die. To layer the two top note pieces, I just trim slightly inside the perforation of the white one and layer it right on top of the contrasting color. If you do happen to get a few little nubbins from the perforation, I use my SU sanding block! (item # 103301) and for only $3.50 you get 2 of them and it is one of those tools that you will use everyday!!! Christmas Cards

Sorry I am just now posting the Christmas cards I sent out last month, but sometimes our brains just are working right! LOL ;) Especially mine! These cards are basically the same, except for the technique I used on the cardinals. Each one is different. This first one, I used the stained glass technique. Basically you stamp your image on a piece of vellum and then emboss it. I stamped mine with versamark and embossed with black embossing powder. Then you turn it over and "paint" the back side with your markers! At that point you can either leave the vellum square or you can do as I did and trim around the image. I also put red glitter on the holly berries.

OK. This version I used some watercolor paper (not SU's) which I happen to have and I painted the cardinal using my SU classic ink pads and my aqua painter. I also put glitter in the holly berries.

This version, I used the same watercolor paper (which I really think was too heavy), but I used my markers straight on the WC paper. This paper is so thick, I think it tried to suck all the ink out of my markers! I had to be extremely careful not to touch it because the ink would smear extremely easy and it seemed to take forever to dry! And I thought I was being slick and cutting down on time! NOT! Needless to say when I tried to put my glitter on the first one of this version, it stuck to everything. I guess I learned my lesson, don't try and "rush" my creativity! LOL

Graduation Card

My step son Michael, graduated from San Jose State University on Dec 12th. This was the card that I made for him. He really liked it and was in awe of how I did the embossing. Little does he know how simple it is with an embossing folder!!! His school colors are gold, royal blue and white, so I matched up my SU colors and off to town I went. This card literally took a matter of 5 minutes to do. That included getting out the supplies!! How simple and how cute!!

Gift Basket for a Charity Auction

There are a group of us women (Navy CPO Wives or Retired Navy Women in my case) that get together once a month for a social event. We meet at the CPO club onboard NAS Pensacola on the 3rd Thursday of every month for a girl visit and then we decide where to go out to dinner. One of the girls in our group, Angie Anglin, was diagnosed with breast cancer a few months ago and is undergoing treatment. She was working at Blue Angel Elementary School. The school held a Spaghetti feed and auction in her honor with proceeds to go to the Anglin family to help with Christmas and any other incidentals that they needed. I made this basket, but there were 4 others from our group who donated towards the cost of the basket, Kim, Susie, Joanne, and Erica. The school sold "raffle" tickets. Then the purchaser placed their ticket in the bucket in front of whichever items that they wanted to be in. My basket drew the most tickets with $80 in ticket sales!!! Unfortunately I was in a hurry and forgot to take pictures of each individual item in the basket before I wrapped it all up, so I'm not sure how good you can see these items.

In the 1st picture you can see a wooden picture frame that I decorated. It is in the back with the word "Peace" on it. In from of that are a set of 5 notecards. These are the same notecards that are shown in the bottom picture.

In the 2nd picture you can see decorated notebook, some decorated York Pepermint Patties (who doesn't like chocolate!!) There is also a gold metal sleigh in the center that things are placed in. Alos a Snowman cup with some apple cider mix, all placed in a red velvet lined wooden basket.

Angie just had her 4th therapy session a couple days ago and is doing better, but please keep her in your thoughts and prayers. Angie is as sweet as can be and is the hilarity of our group! She is always making us laugh with her sassy attitude and we want her back full time!!!

Christmas Gift Bags

These are little gift bags I made for my hubby's work for Christmas Eve. I was Santa and took them all a treat! As for the the base, I bought a package of paper bags from Wal-Mart. They are 5 1/4" x 8 1/2". I covered them with DSP made a little tag and wah-lah, they were done! I know they thought the best part was what was inside! Sugar cookies and Caramel Fudge Brownie Bars! That is thier favorite!

Notebook for MIL for Christmas

OK, I promise this will be the last notebook for awhile!! LOL I made this one for my MIL for Christmas. She says she just loves it! Pink is one of her favorite colors, so I'm sure that helps! I guess I can also reveal who received the blue one from an earlier post! That would be my SIL.

I have some new things I will be posting in the next few days also, so be sure and check back!!

Anniversary Card

I made this card for my husband for our anniversary. Sometimes it seems a little difficult to make a more "masculine" card, but I think this one worked.

I used my scor-pal to score the lines on the background cardstock just to give it a little dimension.

Another Little Notebook..........

OK, yeah I know...........another notebook.............but wait a minute......this one was for my sister for her birthday. She loves horses and I knew she would love this!!! She is a real tomboy (no offense, Sis) so something "girly" was not going to work for her. I made this using the retired stamp set "Bareback". I just can't get rid of this set until Stampin' Up comes up with another western set that is better. I have to have horses in my collection. I like them too, but I'm not a fanatic like my sis. Anyway I hope you like it and I promise I won't post any more notebooks for a while. Thanks for looking and I hope everyone has a very MERRY CHRISTMAS!!!!!

Another little notebook

Here is another little notebook I made the other day. This is the one with better measurements (which I stated in the last post). This allows for an extra 1/8" on the front and back so the paper is not peeking out. I do measure them right at 8" for the height so that there is no excess on the top or bottom. This was done with the Bali Breeze DSP and Certainly Celery cardstock. This is slated as a Christmas gift so I can't divulge any more information on who that lucky person might be.......... I doubt that she comes to visit my blog, but then again you never know! She needs to be surprised what Santa might bring!

Just a little notebook

This is just a little notebook I made from a 5" x 8" tablet. These are so simple and would make great stocking stuffers!! It only takes one piece of 8 1/2" x 11" cardstock and a 5"(x 12) strip of 12 x 12 DSP (Designer Series Paper). This was the very first one I made. Kind of a trial run I guess. I realized I needed to add a little more on the width of the paper. On the other ones I cut my cardstock at 8" x 10 1/2". On the long side, you then want to score your paper at 5 1/8" and again at 5 3/8". Basically a 1/4" binding area in the middle of the paper. Before you adhere the notebook to this cardstock, layer a piece of the DSP over the top of the notepad binding. ( See 2nd photo) Then adhere the notebook to the right side of the 2nd score line and fold the paper over the top of the pad. WA LA!!!! Now decorate the front any way you would like!!! This might sound confusing but it is really very easy!!!

Gift Bag for Any Occasion

This gift bag is so simple it crazy! Just get a regular gift bag any size, measure how big it is, ie; a 5 x 8, 8 x 10 etc. This one happens to be an 8 x 10.

Then just cut your cardstock to fit, stamp whatever images you want, and attach it to the bag. This one has a strip of DSP over it with a ribbon. How simple!!!

The Gift Card is a 3 x 6 piece of White C/S folded in half to be a 3 x 3. Punch a hole in the corner, tie a piece of ribbon through it and around the handle. (After you stamp on it of course!)

Eastern Blooms

I just love this new set called Eastern Blooms out of the current catalog! It is very simple but yet adds a touch of elegance to a project. It another one of those sets that you can add any type of sentiment and it works beautifully. This was also made with all the new "In Colors" (except the ribbon). The Pumpin Pie Ribbon that I used works perfectly with the Tangerine Tango Ink!

Here is another example of a card made with the Dreams du Jour Stamp Set. This set is so versatile, I just love it! This card is also made with all the new "In Colors". The flowers are watercolored also. The frame is one of our chipboard pieces that I covered with ink and then embossed.

I made this card a couple weeks ago while I was at a monthly scrapbooking get together. I absolutely love our new In Colors. However this photo does not do the Pink Pirouette justice. This stamp set is one of my favorites out of the new catalog. I made a card like this for my SIL for her birthday. That's what's so great about this stamp set, you can put almost any sentiment on it and it works for almost any occasion!!! This card layout was cased from one I had found on SCS. Don't remember who it was (sorry) :(

I really like the way you can use the new scallop punch and make the "buckle" Isn't that clever?? There are so many creative stampers out there in stamping land!!

This is a card I made a couple weeks back. I just love the colors together!

It is elegant but yet not too over the top.

On this card I used the Corner Rounder Punch to make the scalloped edge. Stampin' Up! now has a scalloped edge punch! That was one of the very first things I purchased out of this new catalog. Man I love that thing!!! It is SOOOO much easier on the fingers!!

I also punched out a chocolate chip and white scalloped circle and then layered the chocolate behind the white and offset the scallops.

Birthday Card for a Nephew

I made this card a couple months ago for my husbands nephew who lives in St. Louis, MO. It turned out OK. Nick turned 8 I think on his birthday, so he's right at that stage where you can't use grown-up stuff, but you can't use "little kid" stuff because he's a big boy now.

A gift for my Mother-in-Law

This is a gift I made for my Mother-in-Law for Mother's Day. My husband was active duty Navy when these pictures were taken. We were stationed at Kadena Air Force Base in Okinawa Japan. (Man, I miss that place!) Mom had come to visit us for 6 weeks. Get your money's worth, right? We (her and I) must have hit every road on that island, most I'd been on before because I LOVE to explore! These particular pictures were taken the day that we had gone to the Botanical Gardens. It's always such a beautiful place. The bottom picture however was taken just a few weeks before Mike and I left the island. This was taken at the Shikina-en Garden. The entire island is filled with so many great place to visit and just take in the beautiful scenery, the food and especially the Okinawan people.

Inspiration

My friend Diana, who is now in England, asked me the other day to post some "Inspiration" for her for Christmas cards. I do realize that this is not a Christmas card, but, when I saw a card very similar to this on Mary Jo Albright's blog "I" was inspired. I loved her card, so I cased it. I changed up the colors and the sentiment and a few of the embellishments. I think that the true inspiration comes from the layout of a card and what the person does with it. Mary Jo's card is just beautiful and I think mine came out pretty good too.

So remember Diana, take the inspiration from the "look" of the card not necessarily the "type" of card. I will be posting more in the next few days for ya. I finally got all my watermarks on my photos.

Hotsy Card!!

I made this card for my husband for Valentine's Day this year. This was such a BIG hit with his co-workers!! I had put it in his lunchbox that morning. He didn't know until he pulled it out of the envelope!

This is a great idea for an Anniversary Card or for a Pool Party Invitation...or just a way to say "I love you".

For my hubby's desk

Here is a desk top sticky pad holder I made for my husband's desk. He really like it and so does his co-worker's. It was extremely easy to make with just a few pieces of cardstock, a stamp or two and a plastic stanup photo frame! This matches the candy jar I made him too! Actually, I made this first, so I guess the candy jar matches the notepad holder! LOL..........

Card for my MIL

I made this card for my Mother-in-law for Mother's Day this year. I used a Level 3 Hostess Set from the 2008 Spring/Summer Catalog. I like the way this turned out. It's got a monochromatic look which makes it very simple but very nice too.
